Visits by the SQ2SQ 2008 Team to Isle of Wight Schools draws to a close
Since March 2008 the SQ2SQ 2008 Team have been visiting schools across the Isle of Wight to promote SQ2SQ 2008, cycling and British Cycling’s Go-Ride scheme, as well as how the pupils can get involved with their own mini-SQ2SQ 2008.
The presentation by the team has been adapted to the age group of the pupils and as such can accomodate all ages from primary through to high school and six form/college pupils. The presentation normally lasts 15-20 mnutes and can include a 3 minute DVD promotional video, but the length and type of presentation can be adapted as required.
The SQ2SQ Charity Cycle Challenge covers various areas of the school curriculum, including health, diet, fitness, sports science, geography, languages, road safety, social responsiblity, voluntary work, local community work and charity work.
When the final assembly is completed in early July the team will have presented to 33 assemblies and thousands of Isle of Wight pupils, in primary, middle and high schools. Some schools are completing mini-SQ2SQ 2008 events during National Bike Week 2008.
Many schools across the island are arranging to complete their own mini-SQ2SQ 2008, enouraging pupils to cycle and complete 1, 14, 140 or 1,400 miles, with sponsor from the mini-SQ2SQ 2008 going to the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge Appeal 2008.
Thank you from the SQ2SQ 2008 Team to all the schools for the hospitality and allowing the team to visit their schools and present to pupils during the assemblies.
Thanks also to the pupils for their attention during the presentations and the SQ2SQ 2008 Team hope they will get involved with SQ2SQ 2008 and enjoy their cycling.

How do we arrange for a visit from the SQ2SQ Team to our school?
All Isle of Wight Schools have been contacted by the Carisbrooke Schools Sports Partnership asking if they wish the SQ2SQ Team 2008 to visit their school.
No further visits to schools are currently being undertaken by the SQ2SQ 2008 Team, as the team of cyclists need now to change their focus to concentrate more on the training for the SQ2SQ Charity Cycle Challenge 2008.
