The team, the support crew and the team from the Wessex Cancer Trust will be arranging various fundraising events in the lead up to the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008.
MAY 2008
Wednesday 7th May 2008: Wessex Cancer Trust Supporters Day, Rose Bowl, Southampton, Hampshire
The team will be attending a the Wessex Cancer Trust Supporters Day at the Rose Bowl, Southampton, Hampshire.
Thursday 15th May 2008: SQ2SQ 2008 promotion into Isle of Wight Schools - Carisbrooke Primary School
The SQ2SQ Team 2008 will be at Carisbrooke Primary School, assembly at 9.05am.
Wednesday 21st May 2008: Yates, Newport, Isle of Wight - 999 Emergency Services Night: entry £3
The team will be attending a 999 Emergency Services Night at Yates, High Street, Newport on the evening of Wednesday 21st May.
The SQ2SQ 2008 Festival Prize Draw tickets will be on sale at the event, with all proceeds from the night will be donated to the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 Appeal.
Saturday 31st May 2008: Tescos Superstore, Ryde: Firefighters sponsored bag packing
The team and other firefighters will be packing bags on the checkouts of the tills at Tescos Superstore, Westridge, Ryde, Isle of Wight from 9am on Saturday 31st May 2008.
JUNE 2008
Wednesday 4 June 2008: IWFRS Members Day at Rookley Country Park
The Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 team will be at the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service Members Day on Wednesday 4th June 2008. The SQ2SQ Team will be presenting details of the SQ2SQ Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 to council members and senior management as part of the day.
Friday 6 June 2008: SQ2SQ 2008 Isle of Wight Festival Prize Draw - draw taking place
The Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 Isle of Wight Festival Prize Draw takes place from 12 noon at Newport Fire Station, South Street, Newport, Isle of Wight. The lucky winner of the two Isle of Wight Festival 2008 tickets will be drawn at this event.

Saturday 12 July 2008: Sainsbury's, Newport: Firefighters sponsored bag packing

Saturday 19 July 2008: Newport Rowing Club - Round the Island stationary row in St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight.
A team from Newport Rowing Club will be rowing against another team to row the equivalent distance around the Isle of Wight, using stationary rowers. The event is being held in St Thomas' Square, Newport, Isle of Wight from 9am to 4pm (approx.) with funds split between Newport Rowing Club and the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 Appeal.
SQ2SQ Team members will be completing 1,000 metre rows each as part of the opposing team against Newport Rowing Club.

AUGUST 2008
Thursday 21st August 2008: SQ2SQ Fire Service Golf Tournament
Team of Isle of Wight Fire & Rescue Personnel will be taking part in a golf tournament at Osborne Golf Course (http://www.osbornegolfclub.co.uk/) from 8.30am on Thursday 21st August 2008. This will be followed by a 5-course meal and raffle at the Albert Cottage Hotel, Osborne, East Cowes (max. capacity of 80).
SQUARE TO SQUARE CHARITY CYCLE CHALLENGE 2008
Saturday 30 August 2008 to 13th September 2008: Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge starts -
The Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008 team will be cycling around the Isle of Wight before heading for the ferry to Portsmouth and then the ferry to Le Havre.
On arrival in Le Havre they will then be cycling across France, over the Alps and into Italy before heading for Rome and the Vatican Square in the Vatican City, Italy. More details of the route and mileage will be added below as available.
Departure Day: Saturday August 2008: Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge 2008
The Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge Team will be completing a circuit of the Isle of Wight, calling at all of the fire stations on the Island, prior to catching the Wightlink ferry from Fishbourne to Portsmouth, then the overnight LD Lines ferry from Portsmouth to Le Havre (arriving in France early in the morning on Sunday 31 August) for day one of the Square to Square Charity Cycle Challenge.
Cycle around the Island: distance 65 miles approx.
